How this site makes money

Honesty about costs is the entire product here, so it would be absurd to be vague about our own. This site is funded, or intends to be funded, by three things:

Why that cannot buy a verdict

Every strategy we publish is put through the same testing engine, with the rules of the test written down before the test is run, and every result reported — including the ones that make a partner look bad, and the ones that make us look wrong. We publish our own methodological mistakes when we find them, because we would rather you trusted the process than the conclusions.

No company has ever paid for, reviewed, or been shown a verdict before publication, and none ever will. If that changes, it will be disclosed on the piece itself, in the first paragraph, not in a footnote.

We test strategies, never people

The claims we examine are popular enough to belong to everybody. We do not name, quote or target the individuals who promote them. If you recognise your own strategy here, nothing on this site is a statement about you.

What this site is not

Nothing here is investment advice, a recommendation, or an offer to buy or sell any financial instrument. We are not authorised as financial advisers and we do not manage anyone's money. Everything published is educational and general in nature; it takes no account of your circumstances, and it may be wrong.

Trading and investing involve a real risk of losing money, including more than you put in where leverage is involved. Past results — ours or anyone else's — do not predict future results. Decisions you take with your own money are yours alone.
