Privacy

The short version: this site does not use tracking cookies, does not run advertising, has no user accounts, and never sells personal data. The only personal data we can hold is an email address, and only if you give it to us.

What we collect

• Aggregate traffic statistics. We measure how many people read which pages, using a cookieless analytics service. It does not set cookies, does not fingerprint your device and cannot identify you personally. This is why you are not being asked to click a cookie banner.
• Your email address — only if you subscribe. It is stored with our newsletter provider and used to send you the newsletter. Nothing else.
• Standard server logs held briefly by our hosting provider for security and abuse prevention, as with any website.

What we do not do

• No advertising or advertising cookies on this site.
• No selling, renting or sharing of personal data with third parties.
• No user accounts, profiles or behavioural tracking across other sites.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you can ask us for a copy of any personal data we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to its use — and you can complain to your national data protection authority. In practice the only such data is your newsletter email, which you can remove yourself at any time using the unsubscribe link at the bottom of every issue, or by writing to us.

Third parties

Our website hosting, analytics and newsletter delivery are handled by external providers who process data on our instructions. Some links on this site are affiliate links; if you follow one, the destination site applies its own privacy policy, which we do not control. See our disclosure page for how that works.

Changes

If this site ever adds advertising or cookie-based analytics, this page will be updated before that happens, and consent will be requested where the law requires it.
